In our church we value leaders and want to see leaders and potential leaders developed for ministry and mission. To disciple our leaders we gather them, and call this a  ‘huddle’.

In a huddle the leader disciples 6-10 people just as Jesus did, following Paul’s example from 1 Corinthians 11:1,

“Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”

In BVC we believe in the importance of discipling people to know their identity as beloved children of God. As this often reaches into the very deepest parts of our character it is important that we create a safe environment where we share what God is saying to us personally. Because of this, Huddles are ‘closed’ groups. This makes them different to small groups, cell groups etc, where it is open and attendance is often infrequent. Jesus modelled invitation and challenge very well in saying “Come and follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” and this is what we want to do in a huddle.
