Barclay Viewforth Church
Michael Bonaventure will show off the versatility of Barclay Viewforth’s magnificent organ with a program including Bach’s Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor. To complement the traditional repertoire Michael will also play new compositions by himself, Huw Morgan and Luiz Henrique Yudo.
Stuart MacRae will play a variety of twentieth century compositions on piano, some with violin, augmented by a number of his own compositions, many of which will be having their first performance.
Moray Rumney will play part of Bach’s sonata BWV1016 scored for harpsichord but on this occasion paired with the organ. A more contemporary set with piano will include pieces by Julian Anderson and Bartok. To contrast with this Moray will play a mixture of Scottish pieces for solo violin, some with scordatura, or retuned fiddle, as well as some contemporary compositions by his son Lewis Rumney.
Admission is free and open to all, with donations on retiral in aid of the Organ Fund. Wine and snacks will be served at the interval.
