Book Group

We are a group for parents with preschoolers who want to get know more about God.  We meet once a fortnight on a Tuesday afternoon and discuss a book in the company of our pre-school children.  It’s chaos, obviously.

We pick a book which helps us to think about God and helps us to grow in some way.  Then we talk about it.  We read one chapter of a book ahead of each fortnightly meeting.  Realistically there’s just no way we’d get anything out of a study with a troop of preschoolers in the room, so this way at least some of us have managed to have a think about the topic/passage and are able to share that with the others.

Each time we ask the same 3 questions:

  • What most struck you?
  • What most challenged you?
  • What are you going to do about it?

This is a very flexible and relaxed group.  We have never yet had a week where everyone has managed the reading (and we have had a week where nobody had!) so anyone turning up just for a biscuit is very welcome.  You’re welcome to come if you’re interested in finding out more about Jesus or if you’ve known him for a long time and want to know more even the midst of nappies and toys.  We meet every other Tuesday from 2.30-4.30 (but it’s very much a case of come when you can and leave when you must).

Come and join us!

The Book Group is also part of a bigger Missional Community called the Net. Cick through to find out more information about who we are and what we do.
